Los artificieros que acudieron al lugar de los hechos para determinar la naturaleza del artefacto constataron que era un dispositivo falso, explicó a la emisora “France Info” un responsable policial.
El atacante, que no llevaba documentos identificativos, utilizó para la agresión un arma blanca, que podría ser un utensilio de carnicería, según las fuentes.
El cuerpo sin vida del individuo quedó tendido en el suelo a pocos metros de la puerta, donde fue inspeccionado en un primer momento por un robot de los artificieros, que temían la presencia de un artefacto de explosivos porque había unos cables que le colgaban por el interior de la chaqueta.
Los hechos ocurrieron hacia las 12.00 locales (11.00 GMT) en la calle de la Goutte d’Or que da nombre al barrio, en el que hay una importante población originaria del Magreb y del África negra.
Said, un vecino del barrio, contó a Efe que se escucharon al menos tres disparos y unos gritos.
La policía acordonó todo el sector, con el despliegue de decenas de agentes uniformados y de paisano.
Hasta allí acudió el ministro del interior, Bernard Cazeneuve, que en el momento del ataque se encontraba junto al presidente francés, François Hollande, que pronunció un discurso en homenaje de las fuerzas del orden en la Prefectura de policía de París, justo un año después del atentado yihadista contra el semanario satírico “Charlie Hebdo”.
Hollande señaló que la amenaza terrorista en Francia sigue siendo “temible”, lo que justifica un reforzamiento del dispositivo antiterrorista, entre otras cosas con una evolución de las condiciones en las que policías y gendarmes pueden hacer uso de sus armas. EFE
